Field School of Charlottesville – Announcing Our Next Head of School
Field School’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Charlottesville native Vito “Bo” Perriello, III to be its next Head of School. Mr. Perriello will be the third head of school for Field School, founded in 2007. He will begin his duties in July 2023.
Mr. Perriello is a lifelong educator, coach and administrator who has, over the course of the past two decades served as St. Anne’s-Belfield’s award-winning lacrosse coach, Director of Admissions, Director of Alumni Affairs, and chemistry teacher.
Mr. Perriello received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Notre Dame, where he also served as captain of the lacrosse team. He also holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Columbia University.
In announcing the appointment, Board Chair Larissa Sneathern said, “We couldn’t be more excited to have Bo join us as Head of School to continue our great traditions and address the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. We conducted a thorough search process as a culmination of community surveys, strategic planning and desire to transition to the Aerie campus. Bo possesses the demonstrated leadership qualities to lead us forward.”
In accepting the appointment, Mr. Perriello said, “I am excited to join such a wonderful community and build upon the great tradition Field School has established while helping the school transition to their permanent location on the Aerie Campus. I look forward to the opportunity to focus exclusively on boys’ middle school education while working to create the best possible classroom and co-curricular experience for them during their most formative years.”
Mr. Perriello grew up in Charlottesville and is married to Maureen Perriello – they have four children.
